The Chase Lounge

I got the chat room upgrade today. Of course, I can't access the admin site from work so I'll be installing it tonight. I also checked out domain names should we want to grow this thing off Blogger someday. Thechaselounge(dot)com has been taken but (dot)us is available. Heh! Spellcheck says thechaselounge should be Thessaloníki. -Update Ok, the advanced module got rid of the ads and gives us some new features. You can now add rooms and move back and forth between room. I have some admin functionality. We can build a user list, password protect rooms, ban users or URLs. To get the really cool stuff you have to upgrade to professional. Chat transcripts, permanent rooms, cross room talk, moderated chat. We'll see if there's any more participation.

The lovely and talented LabRat dropped by last night. Me: "Now you're being sexist." Myself: "No, I'm not." Me: "Would you say, The lovely and talented Dougman?" Myself: "Well, no." Me: "So, there. Sexist!" Myself: "But I would say that the studly and talented MuscleDaddy has shown up in comments." Me: "OK, you're just wrong." It seems her drink of choice is a whiskey sour without the insipid syrup. Hence the birth of the Sipid Whiskey Sour. What's your drink of choice? Seems like a good time to start stocking the bar. In other news; it appears that Dougman has caught the attention of the Klingons which is never a good thing.

Had a nice meet up with Otto and Mark Paules last night. Though they sneered at my choice of entertainment, I still say that "Pushing Daisies" rocks. I do wish there was some way to tell if there was someone in the chat room; perhaps with the upgrade. * Later, I ran into alexa on the street (gmail). We solved the eternal riddles of life, the universe, and everything. If only I hadn't had so many berrs at the the bar I might remember some of the answers. *Update - I meant, some way to tell if someone's in the room without having to enter the room.

That little button in the left column, above the Dougster will open a chat room. Right now it's a freebie and, to quote Otto, "Sucks eggs." It is functional however and has some fun features. I'll be upgrading it shortly so we can open separate rooms and see chat history. (And get rid of the ads) If there's enough interest it can be upgraded further to something like the Arena short form that we had envisioned. One window for the combatants and another for the crowd.
