Sipid Whiskey

The lovely and talented LabRat dropped by last night.

Me: "Now you're being sexist."
Myself: "No, I'm not."
Me: "Would you say, The lovely and talented Dougman?"
Myself: "Well, no."
Me: "So, there. Sexist!"
Myself: "But I would say that the studly and talented MuscleDaddy has shown up in comments."
Me: "OK, you're just wrong."

It seems her drink of choice is a whiskey sour without the insipid syrup. Hence the birth of the Sipid Whiskey Sour. What's your drink of choice? Seems like a good time to start stocking the bar.

In other news; it appears that Dougman has caught the attention of the Klingons which is never a good thing.

lovely

O.E. luflic "affectionate, loveable," the modern sense of "lovable on account of beauty, attractive" is from c.1300, "applied indiscriminately to all pleasing material objects, from a piece of plum-cake to a Gothic cathedral" [Marsh].

talented

I AM Lovely, (pointing to statue)see?
Gaze upon my Lovelyness.
Is that a word? I'll have to look that up.

I AM Talented.
I haven't quite figured out where it is my talents lie (heh heh) but it certainly is not in writing.

Sipid Whiskey Sour
That was my drink of choice in my early days.
My Dad taught me one day how to make it the way he liked it.
So after he was finished with one I would take his glass and tip the remains into my curiuos innocence.
And the rest is History, or Myth story, or at the very least a blur.

"Sipid Whiskey" - Is that any relation to "sippin' whiskey"?

I was looking up antinems to insipid and it turns out that sipid is an actual word.

By the way - I regularly use "Lovely & Talented" when I try to call my brother and his wife answers.

As in: "Hey Jules, is your Lovely & Talented husband at home?"

MD,
I think "not right" is the coin of the realm.

'not right' pretty well describes this group ... although it's also pretty evident most are far from being 'left' ... heh

sipid whiskey sour would not be my imbibement of choice ... but I am not a boozeist ... I like a decent marguerita when enjoying a Mexican dinner, and I never turn down decent Scotch, Canadian (Rye), Bourbon, Rum or Vodka ... although I do have a preference for Irish (probably because it's least available) and a mild antipathy/aversion towards kerosene ... aka Gin.
All preferably 'neat' and cold.
So ... unlikely you can NOT stock the lounge to suit me. LOL
However, if I show up on two wheels, please limit me to one ... I lose track when shooting the bull ...

Not right, not left...
we'd be not only centered but upright.

Except for me of coarse,
I'm just a mis-fit who you'll eventually have to wash your hands of.
