Where the Hell did that come from?

I used to say I didn't like opera but I've been watching this all night.

Awesome.
The first time I saw that was around Thanksgiving.
If I remember correctly, it had more length to it because all three judges and the audience gave him a standing ovation.

At the time it brought a tear to my eye.

Thanks for the memory Stan.

I remember it being much the same for me when I heard about him a number of months ago too. Heck, I remember the first time I watched "Il Trovatore" on PBS one night, by sheer luck. The incomparable Placido Domingo, a spinto tenor (Pavarotti was a lyrical), shattered my heart with the cry in his voice for losing his beloved in one of the most twisted turns of fate ever written, and from then on I was captivated by this crazy thing called opera.
Hopefully soon TCL will be bustling with us all in a fair send off of 2007.

I love this man. Were I not wed, I would throw myself at his feet.

(BTW, despite my nom de plume, I am female. Just so's ya know.)
