Awesome. The first time I saw that was around Thanksgiving. If I remember correctly, it had more length to it because all three judges and the audience gave him a standing ovation.
At the time it brought a tear to my eye.
Thanks for the memory Stan.

I remember it being much the same for me when I heard about him a number of months ago too. Heck, I remember the first time I watched "Il Trovatore" on PBS one night, by sheer luck. The incomparable Placido Domingo, a spinto tenor (Pavarotti was a lyrical), shattered my heart with the cry in his voice for losing his beloved in one of the most twisted turns of fate ever written, and from then on I was captivated by this crazy thing called opera. Hopefully soon TCL will be bustling with us all in a fair send off of 2007.

I love this man. Were I not wed, I would throw myself at his feet.
(BTW, despite my nom de plume, I am female. Just so's ya know.)
I just got an email from Bill and he's willing to provide the books at cost. So the total, including shipping, is only $125. So we have about $345 extra bucks. (I should have mentioned earlier that Paypal charges a 3.2% transaction fee, so our total is a bit less than $470) So, refunds? Or take kulak's idea and donate the balance to Soldiers' Angels or some other group? Just let me know.
That little button in the left column, above the Dougster will open a chat room. Right now it's a freebie and, to quote Otto, "Sucks eggs." It is functional however and has some fun features. I'll be upgrading it shortly so we can open separate rooms and see chat history. (And get rid of the ads) If there's enough interest it can be upgraded further to something like the Arena short form that we had envisioned. One window for the combatants and another for the crowd. If you're just stopping by, leave a comment so I can gauge the level of interest.
